How do you build an AI workflow for blog creation?

A friendly pencil-drawn robot with a soft rounded body and warm expression welcomes you beside working papers and a yellow pencil.

You have tried AI on a blog post, and the draft came back sounding like anyone's business. What you want is a repeatable process built around your own notes, templates and rules. You build an AI workflow for blog creation by writing five inputs once, context, task, source, rules and output, pointing them at content your business has already published, and checking every draft against that source before it publishes. An n8n template generates blog content that matches an organisation's brand voice and style by feeding the assistant examples of articles it has already published 1. We teach business owners and teams how to use AI on the work their business repeats. In our own business, Searchmaxxed, we built AI workflows for creating blog posts, doing SEO and preparing custom proposals. You can book private training at your workplace, or travel to the Sunshine Coast for our public workshop.

Key takeaways

  • An AI blog workflow produces drafts in your organisation's voice by working from articles you have already published 1.
  • Write five inputs, Context, Task, Source, Rules and Output, and you have instructions you can run again instead of a one-off prompt.
  • The workflow needs text-heavy source content, because that is what the assistant breaks down into voice and article style 2.
  • Treat every AI output as a draft for a human editor and check it against the material your business supplied 3.
  • Our public Sunshine Coast workshop runs four hours in person at A$495 including GST, with the date and venue to be announced and a waitlist open now.

How does an AI workflow for blog creation work?

The workflow reads writing you have already approved, then writes new material to that pattern. In the n8n template, the n8n.io blog supplies the existing published content and the five latest articles are imported through the HTTP node 4. The assistant breaks those articles down into a brand voice and an article style, then generates a new post that follows both 1. The finished piece is saved to WordPress as a draft, so an editor reviews it or uses it as the starting point for their own article 3.

Which five inputs does an AI blog workflow need?

The five inputs are Context, Task, Source, Rules and Output. Write them before you add your source material, because they describe the job and give you a basis for checking the draft.

  • Context describes the business, the customer and the situation the post is written for.
  • Task names the job the AI assistant needs to do, such as drafting one blog post on one topic.
  • Source supplies the notes, documents or approved facts for that job.
  • Rules set the limits and identify the missing information you want flagged rather than invented.
  • Output describes the format and the information the finished draft needs to contain.

For Output, provide the headings or a safe example of a finished post. Specify what belongs under each heading, then compare the new draft with that structure.

What source material gives the drafts your brand voice?

Articles your business has already published. A source of text-heavy content is required to break down the brand voice and article style accurately 2. Thin pages, product listings and image-led posts leave the assistant with nothing to learn from. In the n8n demonstration, five of the latest articles from the n8n.io blog are imported through the HTTP node as the body of existing published content 4.

Source also carries the facts for the individual post: your own notes, templates and rules, the pricing you allow in public, the case detail you are willing to name. State which question the post needs to answer, ask for the facts that resolve it, and leave out background the reader did not request.

How do you check an AI blog draft before you publish it?

You check the output against the information your business supplied. Nothing in the draft should appear that you did not give the assistant. In the n8n template, the draft lands in WordPress for human editors to review or use as a starting point for their own articles 3.

Agree on review rules before the first draft runs: who reads it, what they check, and what sends it back. In our sessions, participants test the workflow on a safe example and check the result against their source material, so the review step is built at the same time as the prompt.

How do you turn one good draft into a workflow your team runs again?

You write the instructions down, test them on a second example, and agree who runs and reviews them. One good draft is luck until the inputs behind it are recorded. We help you build and test a workflow you can use again, and we help your team agree on the source material, instructions and review process for a repeated task. You keep the instructions and the example you tested during the session.

We work this way across industries. We helped automate Radiant Roof Repairs' internal processes using AI, and we used AI to automate SEO, enquiries and admin for Glen House Homoeopathy. The same five inputs sit behind blog drafts for a plumbing or electrical business, a real estate agency or an accounting and bookkeeping firm.

Where can you get hands-on help building your blog workflow?

Two ways. Our public Sunshine Coast workshop gives you four hours to work on one repeated business task, and you build on your own laptop with hands-on help. We also bring private AI training to your workplace, scoped around your team's tasks, experience and location.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the workshop for?

Business owners and teams across industries. You bring one repeated task and the material behind it. People from other areas can travel to the Sunshine Coast public workshop.

Do you need technical experience to build an AI blog workflow?

No. We teach business owners and teams how to use AI on the work their business repeats, and you build on your own laptop with hands-on help.

What should you bring to the session?

Each person brings the laptop they will use afterwards, a charger and a safe task example. Tool and account requirements are confirmed during scoping.

What kind of blog task should you bring?

Bring a post you write repeatedly, and bring the source material that feeds it. Your business task determines the training example. Participants test the workflow on a safe example and check the result against their source material.

What does the A$495 workshop ticket include?

Private onsite AI training is available on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Noosa, Moreton Bay, Logan, Redlands, Toowoomba and Gympie. Sunshine Coast onsite training covers Maroochydore, Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Buderim, Birtinya, Nambour and Coolum.

No. Our public Sunshine Coast workshop gives you four hours in person to work on one repeated business task, and we bring private AI training to your workplace.

How is this different from free AI tutorials?

We build training around your business tasks, source material and the output you need, rather than a generic example. You leave having checked the output against the information your business supplied.

Can you arrange private AI training for your team?

Yes. We scope private training around your team's tasks, experience and location. A fixed quote follows a conversation about the team's tasks, location and experience, and team size, session length and travel determine the price. Private sessions are scoped for roughly 4 to 20 people, and larger teams can be split across sessions.
